Hibiki Carbon Fiber Slipmat

Hibiki Carbon Fiber Slipmat

PRODUCT DETAILS

The term "Hibiki" in Japanese refers to "resonance" or "sound." Our Hibiki Carbon Fiber Slipmat aims to enhance the quality of your vinyl record listening experience by reducing unwanted vibrations. We use premium-grade carbon fiber material with superior vibration-dampening properties, which help to deliver the optimal sound output of your vinyl record setup. Benefits of the Carbon Fiber Slipmat include:

• SPECIFICATIONS: 159 grams, 1.6mm thickness, 295 mm diameter

• VIBRATION-DAMPENING: Carbon fiber is renowned for its exceptional strength and stiffness, making it perfect for energy absorption and vibration-dampening.

• ANTI-STATIC: Carbon nanotubes in carbon fiber are highly conductive, helping dissipate static electricity. By minimizing unwanted noise caused by static, our Carbon Fiber Slipmat can help your audio system reproduce a static and noise-free listening experience.

• IMPROVED SOUND & DYNAMICS: Our “Hibiki” Carbon Fiber Slipmat can help create a more precise sound due to its vibration-damping properties. By reducing unwanted vibrations and resonances, our slipmat can help increase your music's dynamic range, allowing you to hear quiet and loud passages more clearly.

• ENHANCED BASS RESPONSE: Carbon fiber's stiffness helps minimize unwanted resonances and vibrations, leading to tighter and more controlled bass reproduction. This can be particularly beneficial for genres of music that rely heavily on bass, such as electronic or hip-hop.

• IMPROVED TRACKING: The vibration-dampening effects of our Carbon Fiber Slipmat mean that your turntable's tonearm will have an easier time tracking the grooves of your vinyl records. Your turntable’s stylus and tonearm will experience less wear and tear, helping to extend their lifespan and ultimately protect your valuable vinyl records.

Very stiff mat for your turntable

Being carbon fiber means this anti slip mat is very stiff. It's also slightly thinner than other mats that I've tried, again due to the carbon fiber.I did notice a very slight improvement in sound quality once the mat was in place. It was not enough that your average listener is going to notice but for me I could tell. The mat installs easily. It just slips onto your turntable. Easy as can be.If you are an audiophile listener then you'll welcome this addition to your turntable.

Looks cool and works well

If it got rid of all the static electricity on the record I’d give it 5 stars.

A great slipmat

The weight of the epoxy & fiber leaves zero doubt as to a smooth base to hold my record.

Firm slipmat to bring out the clarity in your vinyl

This is actually the second slipmat I have tried for my turntable. The other mat was a highly-reviewed one made out of acrylic that can be picked up at many stores. This one is thinner and has a more aggressive look due to the carbon fiber. The end result of both is somewhat similar - to me the vinyl sounds a little more sharp and clear. While I hear a difference when adding the slipmat, I do not pick up enough of a distinct difference between the two I have. Both seem good. Regardless, recommended for audiophiles.

Less dust!

Well made mat. Though everyone is fixated on the "carbon fiber" its actually a 2 layer mat. A bottom layer of carbon fiber and and upper layer of a firm "felt-like" material which is the real "sauce" to the sandwich. The material eliminates static and does not pick up dust, plus it offers "rubberlike" dampening to deaden any vibrations from the mat itself. I wish the manufacturer would state what it is because its the most important portion of the mat. The carbon fiber it simply a very stiff, light and cool looking support for the layer that does all the good work!
